It’s been a great week for Oak Ridge Today

It’s been a great week for Oak Ridge Today. We posted our first two advertisements, had our first 1,000-view day, and passed 10,000 views total since our launch on March 29.

We have added an opinion section; this is our first post in that section.

Our average daily viewership continues to climb. We have had excellent word-of-mouth advertising and are encouraged by your support, and we plan to continue providing timely, comprehensive coverage of your community.

As you may recall, about a week ago, we switched to a new wider layout that gives us more options for inserting ads and uses more of the screen, moving content toward the top of the page, while keeping our site mobile-friendly.

We have more changes in store. We hope to add videos and a photo gallery to Oak Ridge Today, and we’re still working on adding an events calendar.

Thank you for reading and please let us know if there are any other changes you would like us to make.

      Amanda,

We do have a Facebook page. I’ll try to add info on that.

We still need to set up a Twitter feed for our site. When I post on Twitter, I’ve been posting to my personal account.

      Thank you,

      John

Thank you so much for “Oak Ridge Today”. It is easy to navigate and I get the news that is important to me better than the newspapers. The photos are great also. I wish the Entertainment section would post more activities that are going on or are available for all ages daily. I don’t know if you are planning any kind of “Classifieds” but maybe just a place for “Volunteers Needed” section. I think you are doing wonderful! You have a faithful follower in me. Looking forward to reading more!

Thank you, Sheree. We hope to add more entertainment information, and we’re working on an events calendar. Are you interested in Oak Ridge events only, or would events around Oak Ridge be okay as well?

We hadn’t planned on a classified section, but we might be able to add it later.

You are the second person to suggest a volunteers needed or volunteer opportunities section. We’ll have to look into that.

      Thanks for your support.

John and Dawn, Your site is very informative. I have enjoyed reading the happenings and coming events of Oak Ridge. Even if I am not a resident of Oak Ridge, I enjoy reading about my neighboring city. Keep up the great work and I give a thumbs up for all you do for your town. Cat

I have long wished for a better, more relevant news source for Oak Ridge, one not cluttered with national fluff, nor with annoying pop-ups every time I click a story – so glad to have recently found your site… I wish you a long and successful run with it!
