Schools release Oak Ridge to Maryville comparisons

Posted at 6:01 pm July 14, 2014

There was much discussion comparing the Oak Ridge and Maryville school districts during budget deliberations in Oak Ridge this year. Among the data compared between the two systems was the number of administrators working for each district.

Last week, Oak Ridge Schools released information that compares the two systems in a variety of areas, including number of administrators, average teacher and principal salaries, ACT scores, student-teacher ratios, and percentage of economically disadvantaged students, among other things.

Read the information here: Oak Ridge to Maryville Comparisons.

So it is true, Oak Ridge really does have 3X’s more administrators as does Maryville. And our teachers get paid WAY more than their teachers. Cut the fat, I say!

Thanks John, for sharing the reality.

It would appear at first glance that this really shakes the core of several people’s accusations, doesn’t it? I did notice today that Mr. Negativity (Jain) has followed his frequently traveled path of claiming Maryville, Maryville, Maryville and NOW tonight he wants to know about Johnson City. It’s never enough…he just throws out a bunch of “stuff” to see if he can make anything stick. Let me remind you how he presented the Vegas trip, then when he was proven wrong, he changed the direction of the conversation.
Recently, he made this accusation, with no offer of any proof:
Rajendra Jain “By some accounts vendetta is the staple in our school system”.

I guess that came from his “tip line” that he so proudly claimed ownership of.

And lastly, he claimed today that we should fire 12 administrators to lower costs.

I would remind everyone that both of his children used the OR schools to obtain a quality education and NOW he wants to throw out wild accusations. It must be very difficult to be a minion of the Baughn / Garland group.

    Noticed
on your list only 2 Elementary Administrative Assistants. According to
orth.edu websites Glenwood has Lisa Downard listed as AA, Linden has
Gwen Harrell as an AA, Willowbrook has Susan Armstrong listed as
Assitant Principal, and Woodland has Melissa Blalock as an
Administrative Assistant. If we are trying to do an apples to apples
comparison on School on Adminstrative positions I think further
investigation needs to be done by the authors.
