John Wilborn Lamb, age 82, of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, November 9, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1932, in Black Oak, Arkansas, the son of Mois and Oma Crane Lamb.
Mr. Lamb retired from the U.S. Army, where he served for 24 years and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He enjoyed sports of all kind and working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Mois Lamb Jr.; nephew, Cary Parrish; and step-son, Scott Rutherford.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carol Ann Freels Lamb; sons, John Lamb Jr. and wife Rhonda of Corinth, Mississippi, and Scott Lamb, also of Corinth, Mississippi; stepson, Daniel Rutherford and wife Charleen of Ellenton, Florida; brother, Joseph Lamb and wife Betty of Tupelo, Mississippi; sister, Shirley Parrish of Houston, Texas; niece, Dedra Flynn of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Amy Jennifer Lamb and Jeremy Lamb; and step-grandson, Jacob Rutherford.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 12, at 2 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Gallaher officiating. Full military honors will be provided the Tennessee National Guard Honor Guard.
