Debbie L. Johnson, age 61, a resident of Oliver Springs and Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday night, November 9, at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center.
She was a faithful member of Batley Baptist Church. Debbie retired from Stat Medical Services Inc., where she served both as a nurse and office manager for many years.
Debbie was a loving mother, “granny,” sister, aunt, and friend to so many. She especially enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her siblings. Debbie also loved all animals, shopping, and cooking.
She was born July 13, 1953, to the union of Ray Loveday and Irene Clark Loveday, who preceded her in death; additionally she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon C. Johnson; and sisters, Barbara Holden and infant sister, Robbie Rae Loveday.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Jessie M. Johnson Branum and husband Bobby of Oliver Springs; brother, Bill Loveday and wife Dusty of Knoxville; sisters: Betty Dailey of Powell and Sandra “Doodle” Cox of Knoxville; granddaughters that were her life, Keriana, Heaven, and Tabitha Branum of Oliver Springs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the Trauma team of UT Emergency Department, as well as the team of doctors and nurses in the trauma surgery ICU unit, especially Dr. Abraham and nurses Donna and Michelle and all the special friends and church family who have been so gracious and loving during this time.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, November 13, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Batley Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m., with pastors Luke Kidwell and Lee Hickman officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Friday, November 14, at 11 a.m. at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa.
