He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Estelee Harris Henderson; daughters, Larra “Peanut” Henderson of Oak Ridge, Kaesta Henderson, a senior at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Robin Jane Banks and husband Doug of Claxton, and Stacie Ruth Lunsford and husband Lawrence of Anderson County; stepson, David Hobby, whom he loved as a son and his wife Laura of Knoxville, and stepdaughter, Angela Hobby of Oak Ridge; brothers, Joe Henderson of Oak Ridge, and Jack Henderson and wife Michelle of Harriman; sister, Elizabeth “Sis” Jenkins of Knoxville; six grandchildren, Heather, T.J., Trista, Matthew, Johnathan and Sarah; and four great-grandchildren. He had many special friends who helped in numerous ways. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
The family received friends Thursday, July 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. with Pastor David Woods officiating and Jeff Humbard assisting. A graveside service was held on Friday, July 19, at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
