Christine Julie Griffis, age 82, a resident of Harriman, passed away Sunday, March 24, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Griffis was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Burrville, Tenn. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Before her retirement, she was employed as a housekeeper at Alexander Motor Inn in Oak Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Bolling and Dellia Walden Bolling; by a daughter, Geraldine Seiber;; by a sister, Elizabeth Mae Childs; and by five brothers, James Early, Lewis, Joseph, John Oliver, and Samuel Bolling.
Mrs. Griffis is survived by a daughter, Debra Lowery and husband Dennis of Lancing; by a son, Donnie Griffis of Harriman; by grandchildren, Tyler Lowery, Matthew Seiber, David McCann, Doug McCann and wife Tammy, Holly Seiber, and Terri Cooper; and by six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Ray Bolling and wife Mary Lou of Burville, and by extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 26, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with Pastor John Edwards officiating. Burial and graveside services followed at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
