Steve Watson Daugherty, age 56, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, at his home.
Steve was born on Aug. 6, 1956, in Oak Ridge. He is a lifelong resident of Coalfield.
Steve was a disabled construction worker and a member of local labor union No. 818 in Knoxville. He was also a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, D.B. Daugherty, and by his grandparents, Welch and Irene Jackson.
Steve is survived by his wife, Sherry McGhee Daugherty of Coalfield; by a son, Stewart Watson Daugherty and wife Tamera of Knoxville; by his mother, Naomi Jackson Daugherty; by a granddaughter, Haley Nicole Daugherty of Knoxville; by a sister, Sandra Justice and husband Byron “Peanut” Justice of Coalfield; and by a niece, Kayla Nicole Justice.
He is also survived by his in-laws, Carl and Esther McGhee of Coalfield, and by several friends including a special friend, Randy “Bubba” Lively.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 31, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ronald Guthrie officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m. at Estes Cemetery in Coalfield.
