Willard K. Johnson

Willard K. Johnson, age 56, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the family home.

Willard was born June 4, 1956, in Oliver Springs. He was a lifelong resident of this area.

Willard was a Christian and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He loved his family and the love he shared was returned to him by his family, who very compassionately cared for his every need.

He was the special son of his late parents, William Kenneth Johnson and Annie Price Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Reg Johnson, and by a half-sister, Carol Johnson.

Willard is survived by sisters, Wilma Webster and husband, Jerry, Tuti Thomas and husband, Gary, Wilda Lou Lancaster and husband, Mark, and Willie Ann Gaylor and husband, Randy; and by brothers, David Johnson and wife, Gwen, and Wayne Johnson and wife, Donna, all of Oliver Springs.

He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, a sister-in-law, Julie Johnson of England, and other extended family members.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 19, 2012, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m., with Pastor Garvan Walls and Rev. David Johnson officiating.

Burial and graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 11 a.m., at New Fairview Cemetery. The family expresses their appreciation to Terrence Meece, MD, and Quality Home Health for all the help during Willard’s illness.

Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
